About H Pigney & Son

H Pigney & Son is a hardware shop and agricultural supplier in Appleby-in-Westmorland. It is a shop rather than a mobile service, and it is not open around the clock. Customers mention a very wide stock, from small fixings and kitchen items to compost and garden supplies, and the business also has an on-site petrol station.

Visitors describe the staff as friendly, patient and knowledgeable, and say they take time to help with practical questions, including simple repairs such as sharpening garden tools. One customer also reports that the shop helped resolve a delayed parcel quickly. Several reviewers say the business is well regarded locally as a family-run store.

Before you book

Ask for the total price, including the call-out, before the locksmith sets off, and ask whether they will try to open a locked door without drilling it. If the price changes a lot once they arrive, you can say no. Our guide to choosing a locksmith covers the warning signs.
