About The Key Shop

The Key Shop is a shop in Ivybridge, serving customers in the town itself rather than operating as a mobile service. Reviews mention key cutting, including copies for vehicles where the first attempt did not suit the car, and a repair service for footwear, with customers describing resoled and reheeled shoes and boots. Several reviewers say the staff were friendly and explained the work, and one notes that a key that did not work was recut at no charge.

Customers report that the work is carried out quickly and to a good standard, and that the owner was willing to try again when a copy did not fit. Some note that payment for shoe repairs is in cash only, and that a ticket is issued when items are left in for repair.

Before you book

Ask for the total price, including the call-out, before the locksmith sets off, and ask whether they will try to open a locked door without drilling it. If the price changes a lot once they arrive, you can say no. Our guide to choosing a locksmith covers the warning signs.
